ABOUT
Wedgewood/Houston (nicknamed WeHo) has long been a neighborhood driven by strong artisan relationships, and has functioned as a historic home for many artist studios. Every month, we open our doors for all Nashvillians to experience a free art and music walk. To coincide with Art Night in Nashville, the walk begins at 6:00 pm on the first Saturday of every month. Minutes from downtown, WeHo has dozens of venues, commercial galleries, artist-run studios, and coworking spaces exhibiting groundbreaking art each month. Our peak season runs from March to November, with monthly attendance in the hundreds.
SPACE
The large, open floor plan is framed by industrial architecture and receives plenty of natural light. The gallery wall is approximately 32 ft. long with tables and columns available for use at the artist’s discretion. We recommend 8-14 pieces of work, depending on the size. The artist’s work will remain on display for the month after the opening, gaining exposure to the many patrons of the Refinery Nashville. Set-up for show will be the Saturday morning of the Art Crawl and take down will take place the Friday prior to the next month’s show.

Showcasing 6-9pm, August 5th, 2017
While taking an abstract drawing/painting class in college, I started to explore visual and emotional connections between painting and music. How the different sounds, and styles of musical creativity affected the way I painted. The professor noticed a style and expression that was unique in my work, and encouraged me to pursue painting in a graduate program, to help foster and grow the ideas that were starting to bloom. Confident in a budding film career, I shrugged off the inner passion to paint. That was 25 years ago.
